50,000 Palestinians gate crash border (first time in 63 years palestine unite)

Things are really getting busy in the world at the moment, Egypt, Libya, Syria, Jordan, Yemen, Tunisia.. list goes on.. and now palestine too!

Freedom for the people and by the people - or so it seems.

For the first time in 63 years of being outcast from their home land, some 50,000 Palestinians have flooded the border of Lebanon and Palestine.

Press TV speaks with Franklin Lamb, international lawyer participating in the NAKBA commemoration and witnessing the extraordinary scenes at the Lebanese border. Following is a transcription of that interview.

Press TV: On this anniversary of NAKBA, so far we have 65 people injured and at least one person killed; we have reports of a journalist being critically injured in Gaza. We also have reports of 30 Palestinians hurt and four killed in So

I have said before I think Israel should acquire a chunk of land either in the US mid-west or Australia, and start over. What do they have to gain by remaining in the middle east? I heard a long time ago a Palestinian state that if Israel gave all their land to Palestine except for 1 square meter, there would still be bloodshed until that square meter was theirs. There is no way to win or resolve the situation other than to pick up and get out of there. A daunting task that would be a logistical wonder of the world, but it's possible.

Not necessarily siding with the palestinians, the land was kinda stolen from them. I wouldn't say that is very surprising. It's equivalent to half of Texas being inhabited by Oklahoma. That includes stealing houses, land, posessions, all of it. I'd imagine.

    It's pretty shitty at best.

I find it amazing that the submissive of Muslims begins to disappear worldwide. I talk a lot with mosslims about their faith. And they really are no zealots like always seen on TV. They know that the imams do not always have the right attitude, they too are aware of manipulation.
And for the Palestinians, well they are always in my prayer... it is realy unbelievable what happen overthere about 60 years ago. I am in shame for the western culture that they have allow this continuous surpression of the poor people in Gaza!!!
The jews well in fact the zionists are in believe that they are the choosen one, this statement makes me wanna puke. Could David Icke be right when he says they are related to the reptiles???

Whether or not the latest Palestinian effort succeeds in the long run boils down to one question: can Hamas co-exist with al-Fatah. It would require that they (Hamas) make a lot of concessions, since neither Israel or the US will recognize any Palestinian authority which has in it (in their words) a terrorist organization.

Yup, Hamas and Fatah have had deep reservations. The reason why Israel attacks is because union, is a direct threat to the control that Israel excercises over the occupiedregion. I believe that it is possible that Fatah is prepared to change, in exchange for increased propserity and freedom. Stranger things have happened, right?

Israel didn’t attack when Palestine was in the hands of a single administrative authority (Fatah in this case). The way Israel sees it, Hamas is a terrorist organization, and why would they deal with an outfit that, like Iran, denies them the very right to exist? If the Pals want any kind of rapprochement with Israel, they will have to muzzle Hamas, or Hamas will have to give up its basic political plank about driving the Israelis into the sea.

Now I’m not a big fan of either of those sides (I’ve never been to Israel, although I was unfortunate enough to spend five months in the Kingdom). I don’t give a rip about who “invaded” whom or who “stole” the land from whom; as far as I’m concerned, that’s just irrelevant history waved by the spin-meisters on both sides like a bloody shirt.

The only relevant fact that drives the potential outcome of this whole mess is that the Israelis have nuclear weapons and the will to use them; and they can destroy any regional power that tries to do anything really annoying. The Arabs, on the other hand, are killing each other off in various flavors of internecine warfare, so even if they had the military power to win a war with Israel, they can’t get it together.

And what – really – do the Pals have going for themselves? None of the other Arab countries, despite their quacking about “Arab solidarity” is providing them with any support. The only other country supplying them is not an Arab one, and Iran is playing its own game here by subsidizing Hezbollah.

The only way the Pals are going to get anything out of Israel other then continuing defeat and humiliation (which is all they’ve gotten in the past half-century) is to arrive at a rapprochement with them, and that means recognizing Israel as a separate state, with its own inviolable borders, and signing a peace treaty with them like Egypt did with Anwar Sadat and Menachim Begin.

That way, the Pals get half of Palestine for their own country, which is about half more than they’re ever going to get any other way.

But to do this, the Hamas-boys are going to have to change their very raison d’etre, and this means they’ll lose a lot of their grass-roots support. But the way I see it, they don’t have any other choice in the matter.
