It is probably a combination of eating synthetic food, drinking 2lbs of high fructose corn syrup a day, internet addiction (at work it's harder to twitter and facebook so this causes anxiety) and general inability to watchTV (another addiction) at work brings the pain. This is not just the US, but they are dealing with it first and it will start to spread to other western nations soon enough. Even here in little NZ I see people making horrible life style choices and morphing into the mindless consumer. If you treat your body and mind a certain way sure you will have poor job satisfaction, likely poor satisfaction in most everything! Just my bar stool 2c.
