Clashes between English Defence League and anti-fascists marr troop homecoming

Hundreds of protesters gathered in the centre of Nottingham to demonstrate against the English Defence League ahead of a planned rally by the far right group.

Some 300 members of Unite Against Fascism staged a protest in the city's market square, waving placards reading 'Stop the EDL' and 'Jobs and homes, no to Fascism'.

The demonstrators were surrounded by dozens of police officers, some with Alsatians while others were photographing and filming the protest.

These clashes are caused by the UAF. They are a government financed anti-democracy group of agitators. Every time the English stand up against extremism and terrorism the UAF are there rioting. They don't go to pro-islamist protests and disrupt those, because the UAF supports islamic terrorism.

It seemed to me that any civilisation that had so far lost its head as to need to include a set of detailed instructions for use in a package of toothpicks, was no longer a civilisation in which I could live and stay sane.

I'm of the personal opinion it takes two to tango ;) Agreed that there is a certain amount of bias shown in the article - however some of those EDF lads look like they could deliver a really nasty bruiser.

Not that they are NAZI's - but they are not to be messed with IMO Then again I know some fairly violent eco-warrior types on other forums... sorry if it seemed I was being biased hehe. It's true, I don't like violent people - they do scare me - the truth of it is violent people are everywhere in many places and perhaps I could have been more careful how I covered this news;)

    Thanks chap,

ps. I not sure about UAF supporting Islamic terrorism - but you are right - they don't goto those protests, but - that is supposed to be because they are pacifists - in any case I think there is something to it when you say they just aren't

There is a massive amount of bias right across the media when they speak about the EDL. The EDL is not political, it is neither left nor right. Its stated aim is to stand up against islamic fundamentalism in Britain. It has stated that all who are opposed to fundamentalism and terrorism in Britain are welcome to join, regardless of race, creed or colour, including moderate muslims.

Yet the media routinely label them as 'far right'. What we are seeing is the English waking up. People are sick and tired of the English being the most oppressed and derided people on this island. They are fed up with the English being the only people denied a democratic say in the running of their own country, while the Irish, Welsh and Scots are given their own parliaments and assemblies, there is even a Muslim Council of Britain!

When Jack Straw, son of immigrants, and Baroness Warsi, daughter of immigrants, sat on prime time national TV and said 'There is no such race as the English', did they think that would go ignored by the English?

There is nothing wrong with grass-roots, absolutely. Providing that the EDL is peaceful and isn't breaking the law - all is good.

That said, even though the Law does not allow such groups to use violence.. sometimes I do feel at peace that there are people willing to fight to protect freedom from real tyranny.

Still, just like the army will attract certain types of individuals, I feel that it is difficult position to be in for the 21st century. Groups need fair representation, all of them IMO - but sometimes when you do that , others exploit it.

It could be argued, that if the LAW and morality of the world was perfect, there would be no need for either groups? Ahh, I can be so overly idyllic. Sorry, hehe.

Remember what democracy means - rule of the mob. Democracy doesn't exist in england aparently, FPP can allow a 40% majority to rule - just an observation ;( Then again... democracy or nay - i don't believe it's a broken system - in regard to the chicken and the egg - the problem being a hypocritical government for their shameful acts of political correctness, AND the people for allowing them to get away with such madness.

I believe it was Adam Weishaupt who said,
he who refuses to see - does not deserve what was missed.
Why is it the most nasty of people are sometimes the smartest??

You are right, if we do not stand for peace, justice and everything that is good about man - no race debate required to see that much. It's true that they should get the same rights to express themselves as so called extremists. Sometimes I wonder if previous commitments of white superiority groups and historical bigotry create a stigma of jurisprudence doing what it was designed to do. Carry out justice for the people.

It certainly is not wrong to say there is no justice in this rotting society - and yes, something needs to be done about it; however I feel it is something we must all agree upon as a world - and that is not easy.

This expresses perfectly how I feel:
